Brisbane Scrap Metal Buyers

A scrap yard that answers the phone

No account to open, no forms before you get a number, and no games at the scales. Ring, get a price, get paid.

A loaded truck tray with sorted batteries, cable and skip bins back at the yard.

Who you are dealing with

Brisbane Scrap Metal Buyers is a local scrap metal buyer and recycler working across the Brisbane metro area, out to Ipswich, Logan, Redlands and Moreton Bay. We buy from households clearing a shed, tradies clearing a ute, and sites clearing a bin every week.

The way it works is deliberately plain. You ring or send a photo, we tell you what the grade is worth on the day, and if the numbers suit we book the pickup or you drop it at the yard. The load is weighed in front of you, the docket records the grade and the weight, and you are paid in cash or by EFT before we drive off.

We have deliberately left out the usual claims about tonnes processed and years in business. When you have confirmed those numbers we will put them here, and not before.

What happens to your metal

Nothing that comes in gets buried. Here is the path a load takes once it leaves your driveway.

Sorted by grade

Your load is separated the moment it lands. Copper away from brass, clean extrusion away from cast, heavy steel away from light gauge. Grade is most of what decides the price.

Stripped of what does not belong

Motors are pulled from appliances, refrigerant and oil are recovered from fridges and air conditioners, and batteries are taken out of anything they are still sitting in.

Sent on to be re-melted

Sorted metal goes to processors who bale, shear or shred it for the mills. Steel and aluminium can go round again more or less indefinitely, which is the whole point of the trade.

How we keep it above board

Scrap dealing in Queensland comes with obligations, and we would rather explain them up front than surprise you at the gate.

We record seller details for every purchase, so bring current photo ID. For a vehicle, bring proof it is yours to sell. If a load cannot be traced to the person selling it, we do not buy it.

Gas bottles, fire extinguishers, sealed cylinders and uncut fuel tanks are refused every time. They are an explosion risk downstream and no price makes that worth it.
